Cancellation policy

What to do if you need to move or cancel a lesson.

Dean, Independent Driving Instructor. Last updated September 2026.

Moving or cancelling a lesson

If you need to change a lesson, contact Dean as early as you can by phone, text or email and he will do his best to find another time that suits you.

Notice period and charges

Dean asks for reasonable notice if you need to cancel or move a lesson, as much as you can manage. He takes a flexible view: illness, emergencies and the occasional bad day are all part of learning to drive, and there is no set cancellation charge. Rather than lose the time, Dean will usually suggest moving the lesson to another day that week.

If something changes regularly or at short notice, just talk to Dean about it and he will work around it.

Lessons cancelled by Dean

If Dean has to cancel, for example because of illness, a vehicle problem or unsafe driving conditions, the lesson is rearranged at no extra cost or any payment made for it is returned.

Blocks of lessons

Where lessons are paid for as a block, any unused hours are discussed and settled directly with Dean.
